ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) _ Carter County authorities are looking for a woman who escaped from the county jail by switching identities with another inmate.
Sheriff Harvey Burkhart says Karen Neveling of Texas was released about 1 Thursday morning when a bondsman posted her bail.
Burkhart says Neveling switched jail cells with inmate Misty Dawn Johnson and when Johnson's name was called, Neveling came out and left with the bondsman.
The sheriff says the bondsman was driving Neveling to her car when jailers discovered the switch. The jailers called the bondsman by phone and he said he would return the woman to the jail, but a short time later he told authorities Neveling jumped out of his truck and disappeared.
Neveling was arrested with her husband, Daryl, after counterfeit 100 dollar bills were found in their motel room in northwest Ardmore.
Neveling is described white, 5-foot-3, 190-pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
