Identity theft concerns for thousands of "current" and "former" Boeing employees.
The aerospace company is sending out letters to let workers know about the recent theft of a Boeing computer from a non-Boeing site. On the computer, files with personal information about 161,000 current and former Boeing employees including names and social security numbers and in some cases birthdates and banking information.
A statement on Boeing's website says there's no evidence that any of the information has been accessed or misused but the company is launching a full investigation. Boeing is also directly notifying each affected employee and helping them enroll in fraud alert programs.
They say they'll also pay for enrollment in ongoing credit monitoring services for any employee who wants to sign-up.
