CHANDLER, Okla. (AP) -- Department of Human Services workers in Chandler have been getting threats over the death of a 2-year-old Meeker girl.

DHS spokesman George Johnson says security has been increased at the Chandler office, but declined to comment on the content of the threats. Johnson does say a family member of the dead girl and others who knew her have been seen in the office parking lot when they had no business to conduct there.

The girl was Kelsey Smith-Briggs and her stepfather is charged with first-degree murder in her death on October 2nd.

The girl had been taken from her mother's home in January because of suspected abuse, but was returned to her mother's custody in June.
