ATOKA, Okla. (AP) -- A pit bull that attacked an 11-year-old boy is now in quarantine because the owner couldn't prove the dog has had its rabies shot.

The dog attacked Nick McMaster last Thursday. It bit a piece out of the boys leg and broke a bone in his leg.

The boy is reported in good condition at OU Medical Center.

Police Chief John Smithart says dog owner Doyle Brown will be ticketed for not having the dog vaccinated for rabies.

Smithart also says the dog bit another dog while in quarantine and he'll meet with the city attorney to discuss what will be done with the dog if it proves healthy after quarantine.
