A Green Country high school band is racking up more honors.

â€œThe Owasso High School Marching Band was chosen as the Class 6A winner in our Battle of the Bands contest." News on 6 anchor Craig Day had the opportunity Monday to present the Owasso High School band with a $1,000 check from Jim Glover Chevrolet and the News on 6.

Our congratulations to Band Director David Gorham and the students. Band member Molly Hendricks: "It's just amazing that we put in a lot of work and we all have put in so much work and we're getting a payoff. It's huge. It's awesome."

The Owasso band also just got back from Indianapolis, where they made it to the finals in the Bands of America Grand National Marching Competition. Out of 92 bands, Owasso made the championship round featuring the top 12 bands in the nation.
