Cushing, Okla. (AP) -- Trans Canada, a natural gas and oil pipeline company, is proposing a new pipeline that would bring Canadian and Alaskan oil into Cushing, opening new markets for oil companies.
The company estimates that around 435,000 barrels a day of crude oil would be routed through the pipeline.
The company is determining whether oil shipping companies are interested in moving their product through the pipeline for delivery to pipelines or refineries along the Gulf Coast, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
The company said planning for the project should be finalized by the end of the year and construction of the pipeline would be complete by 2008.
