The Sand Springs community reached out Thursday. Volunteers want to help some kids who aren't always welcomed with open arms.
The Sand Springs Chamber of Commerce and volunteers held a Fall Festival Thursday afternoon at the LE Rader juvenile center.
Volunteers brought in games and even a barbecue lunch to boost morale at the center. Richard Delaughter with the Office of Juvenile Affairs: "It shows the kids and the staff the community really supports them. That there are people out there who care what happens to them. That they care what goes on with-in the walls and the fence of the LE Rader Center.â€
Parents were also invited and they got a chance to see where their kids live and what they do everyday.
