STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State University plans to create a state-of-the-art athletic village at its Stillwater campus for men's and women's sports.

A master plan will be presented to the Board of Regents next month. The proposed site of the complex is north of O-S-U's existing athletic facilities.

Officials say buying the property will free up other space on campus as the university meets new academic, student housing and parking needs.

O-S-U President David Schmidly says the expansion will improve the school's ability to recruit the nation's top student-athletes.

The athletic village will include men's and women's facilities for track, tennis and soccer, as well as an indoor facility for football, baseball, track and other sports.
