Southwest Airlines adds Oklahoma City-Vegas flight

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Southwest Airlines is adding a nonstop flight from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas starting November 12, becoming the third airline at Will Rogers World Airport to offer direct service to the Nevada city.

Las Vegas is the No. 5 destination for Oklahoma City passengers. The top destination is Houston, airport officials say.

To promote the new flight, Southwest is offering one-way tickets for $69.

Southwest joins Allegiant Air and American West in offering nonstop flights to Las Vegas.

Last year, 97,320 people flew from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas, nearly double the number of people making the same trip a decade ago, according to aiport officials.
