A subtle but meaningful change has taken place in downtown Tulsa. New street signs have been dedicated declaring Main Street the "Avenue of the Sister Cities.â€
It's part of the "Sister Cities Summit" going on all week. Tulsa has sister cities in China, Japan, Taiwan, Mexico, Israel, Russia, Germany and France.
Tulsa city councilor Chris Medlock: "Tulsa's becoming a much more diverse and international city, always has been, really, because of the oil industry, for a long time. I think we've always been a very cultural city and international city, but it does start honoring that tradition to a certain degree."
The "Sister Cities Summit" continues through Friday.
