A subtle but meaningful change has taken place in downtown Tulsa. New street signs have been dedicated declaring Main Street the "Avenue of the Sister Cities.”

It's part of the "Sister Cities Summit" going on all week. Tulsa has sister cities in China, Japan, Taiwan, Mexico, Israel, Russia, Germany and France.

Tulsa city councilor Chris Medlock: "Tulsa's becoming a much more diverse and international city, always has been, really, because of the oil industry, for a long time. I think we've always been a very cultural city and international city, but it does start honoring that tradition to a certain degree."

The "Sister Cities Summit" continues through Friday.
