OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma City man remains in the Oklahoma County jail in lieu of $975,000 bail after being arrested on sexual assault charges.

Captain Kelly Marshall of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department says Martin Ray Melton faces charges of 15 counts of rape and 16 counts of lewd acts with a child under 16. He also faces five counts of child abuse.

Officials say Melton is employed as an evening custodian at the special services building for Edmond Public Schools.

The building houses the district's alternative education program, Boulevard Academy.

Melton was arrested by Edmond police. Edmond police spokeswoman Glynda Chu says he is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15 year-old.

Chu says she thinks the girl's mother contacted police and says she doesn't know if the teen is a student at Edmond schools.
