TISHOMINGO (AP) _ A Toshomingo woman remains a suspect in a 1982 homicide case in Oregon.
Brenda Duran was held in the Johnston County jail on Thursday night while she awaited extradition.
Police in Oregon say Duran became a suspect in the 23-year-old case after they gathered new information and questioned Duran on Wednesday.
The case involved the June 10, 1982, death of her then-husband, Greg Kirkelie. Kirkelie was gunned down by a shotgun blast while working at a family-owned shoe store.
His wife and 6-month-old daughter were in the store at the time.
Police say Duran, who was then known as Brenda Kirkelie, originally told police her husband was shot during a robbery.
