NICOMA PARK, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel says one man is dead after apparently being shot while driving in Nicoma Park just east of Oklahoma City.

The incident was first reported about 11 Wednesday morning as a traffic accident, but police and fire officials found the man shot to death inside a sport utility vehicle that ran off the road and into a pole.

Whetsel says dogs and helicopters are being used to search the area, but investigators haven't ruled out the possibility the man committed suicide.
