OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A group of Pakistani businessmen and doctors are organizing a dinner to raise funds for victims of the powerful earthquake in Pakistan, India and Afghanistan.
The dinner will be held Wednesday evening at the Warr Acres Community Center in Oklahoma City.
Pakistan native Tariq Maqsood -- who operates Shani Distributors in Oklahoma City -- says he was relieved to learn his family survived the devastating quake.
He says he and a handful of other Pakistani friends in Oklahoma City decided to help raise money for the victims.
Maqsood says he estimates Oklahoma City has between 500 and 600 Pakistani residents.
