NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The owner of a closed flight school in Norman says he has no way to reopen or to refund tuition to its former students.
Airman Flight School owner Jerry Carroll says he plans to file for bankruptcy and has no idea what happened to tuition payments made in the days before Airman closed.
He blames the closure on the company that tried to buy the school from him.
Now the flight school's doors at Max Westheimer Airport are closed and its students have lost their tuition money.
66 former students and employees are suing the school for breach of contract. Among the allegations are that Airman deceived students by taking their tuition when owners knew the school was closing.
But co-owner Brenda Keene says the school didn't deceive the students and didn't know the school was going to close when they took the tuition money.
