Oklahoma City man pleads guilty in consumer fraud case

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The general manager of a boating company who was charged with ten felony counts of violating the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act is sentenced to 45 days in prison and ten years of probation.

Prosecutors charged 36-year-old William Gregory Wilson March second after he allegedly took money from ten consumers for the sales of various watercraft but then either failed to provide the boats or refund the money.

Wilson -- the general manager and salesman for Deep Fork Marine Incorporated of Arcadia -- was accused of defrauding the customers of money and trade-in merchandise that was never returned to its owners.

Wilson was charged after an investigation by the attorney general's Consumer Protection Unit.

He pleaded guilty to the charges May 23rd.
