Of the estimated 1,500 hurricane evacuees who came to Oklahoma's Camp Gruber after Katrina, only about two dozen are still there.
Some of the remaining people have made living arrangements, but are waiting for donated furniture. We're told most of the original evacuees went to live with relatives in other states. Others moved to Tulsa, Muskogee or Tahlequah and enrolled their children in schools.
Camp Gruber opened to evacuees on September 3rd. It will stay open until the last evacuee has a place to go. That is expected to happen in the next few days.
