OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ A survey of business leaders and supply managers shows Oklahoma's economic index is rising while the overall economy of the nine-state Midwest region fell.
The survey by Creighton University economist Ernie Goss found Oklahoma's economic index in September at 58.8, up from 56.7 in August. An index above 50 indicates an expanding economy.
Goss says Oklahoma appears to be on the way to adding jobs and increasing business activity during the last three months of the year.
The overall economic index in the nine states surveyed by Goss fell from 60.4 in August to 59.9 in September.
