OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A local contractor has been ordered to pay the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company more than 200,000 to settle a civil lawsuit that accused the contractor of fraudulent overbilling practices.
Oklahoma County District Judge Barbara Swinton approved the order Friday after Terra Tech announced it wouldn't contest the lawsuit.
Terra Tech's Attorney Irven Box says the company decided not to fight the lawsuit because it didn't want to provide any information that might be used against it in a pending federal criminal investigation.
Box says Terra Tech contends any overbillings were accidental.
The company did more than 11.4 million-dollars in work for OG&E during a four-year period before being fired in 2003.
