OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Funeral services were held today for Alfred Paul Murrah Junior at the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
He died at his home on Thursday at age 71.
The retired attorney was the son of the late federal District Judge Alfred Paul Murrah, for whom the Alfred-P-Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City was named.
Executive director of the Oklahoma City National Memorial Kari Watkins says the April 19, 1995, bombing of the federal building was doubly hard on Murrah and his family.
The bombing resulted in the death of 168 people.
Watkins says they had close connections to the building and the people of Oklahoma City.
Murrah Junior was widely praised for his volunteer work at the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
The family has asked that flowers and other memorial contributions be made to the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
