A Tulsa woman is fighting for her life after someone intentionally threw acid on her face.
6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says 32-year old Lynn Scott has three children, but she may never see them again. She could lose her sight because of the attack.
Tulsa Police say it happened early Tuesday morning in north Tulsa. Scott had just returned home from seeing friends when a woman came to her front door and asked to use the phone.
The suspect was holding a clear cup with liquid in it. Scott grabbed the phone and that's when the suspect threw acid on her face. She suffered first and second degree burns on her face and arms. Her 15-year old son came to help and he too was burned.
Scott's family is still in shock and scared.
Lynn’s stepmother Freddie Hannon: "You know, for someone to ask to use your phone and you allow them in your house and they do that to you. That's a frightening thing. It’s not just frightening to us. It's frightening to me to think that woman is still out there."
Lynn’s mother Brenda Scott: "I want her to be alright. To be like she was, but it's not going to happen.â€
Tulsa Police are now looking for the suspect. She's described as a black woman. She's between 5-7 and 5-11. She's 180 to 220 pounds. Her hair was braided with beads. She was last seen running from the house.
Anyone with information that could help investigators should call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
