OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A $475-million higher education bond plan was approved Monday by the Oklahoma Capitol Improvement Authority.

The approval clears the way for construction to begin on capital improvements projects at some state colleges and universities in November.

The bond plan was adopted earlier this year by the Legislature as a way to pay for improvements and renovations on college campuses across the state.

The proposal now goes to the attorney general for a 30-day period during which objections to the proposal can be lodged. It also must be approved by the Council on Bond Oversight.
