OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Senate President Pro Tem Mike Morgan temporarily assumes the role of governor and issues a proclamation lifting the burn ban in five southeastern Oklahoma counties.

The order removes the ban in Choctaw, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain and Pushmataha Counties.

Morgan was called upon to act in the absence of Governor Brad Henry and Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin, both of whom were out of state.

Under the Constitution, the leader of the Senate is next in line to act as governor in absence of the elected chief executive and the lieutenant governor.
