MOUNDS, Okla. (AP) _ A 45-year-old man was killed Sunday when a tractor he was working with rolled over him.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the victim as Leonard E. Williamson of Mounds.
The accident occurred in a field about 12:30 PM. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say Williamson was tying a tow rope from the tractor to a car he planned to tow out of the way.
But the tractor rolled down a hill toward the car. The patrol says Williamson jumped toward the tractor and tried to stop it but slipped under the tractor's tire.
The rear tire came to rest on top of Williamson, pinning him face down to the ground until a neighbor pulled it off.
Troopers say Williamson was pinned for about 15 minutes and died at the scene of suffocation.
