Tulsa County jail authorities are cracking down after an inmate escapes from the jail. 35-year-old Bryan Switzer was in jail for burglary and slipped away from guards Sunday. Switzer led authorities on a manhunt into the night before they finally caught up with him.

News on 6 anchor Scott Thompson says Switzer is expected to face additional charges, thanks to his short-lived escape.

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office says Switzer walked out of the back door of the jail while he was picking up trash Sunday afternoon. He was later caught at a home in Sand Springs. This is the second escape at the jail since the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office took over in July. Both were inmates who were taking care of the trash.

Chief Deputy Tim Alban says it’s just a matter of training, procedure and getting some of the transitional kinks worked out in the first few months. "What I tell anybody is it's just like a big boat out in the ocean. A big boat, slow turn. Nothing's going to happen quickly. It's going to take time and a lot of effort to get it where we want it to be."

Chief Albin told the News on 6, the whole jail is in lockdown mode, until they can figure out just what went wrong Sunday. They'll sit down Tuesday to see what needs to be done to make sure it doesn’t happen a third time.
