OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The State Regents for Higher Education Thursday approved $1.5-million for a Web-based system allowing students to track their progress toward college entrance requirements.
Regents spokesman Ben Hardcastle says the system provides information about financial aid, gives virtual tours of campuses and lets them apply for college admission.
He says students can also create a Web page to keep track of their courses and grades and get their school records and standardized test scores.
The regents chose Xap Corporation of Culver City, California to provide the system and will pay $900,000 to get it started. Another $600,000 will be spent on operations for the first year.
