OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ One man suffered second degree burns in a fire and explosion of small canisters at an Oklahoma City business Thursday morning.

Fire Major Brian Stanaland says the man was welding a trailer of a tractor-trailer rig at Southwest Trailers and Equipment when a box holding cartridges of dinitrous oxide caught fire. Stanaland says fire caused thousands of the thumb-sized canisters to explode.

He says dinitrous oxide is a propellant used in cans of food items, such as whipped cream.

There were about 40 people in the building, but no other injuries are reported. Damage to the business is estimated at $1-million.
