OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Some state lawmakers are organizing the Oklahoma Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus.

Representative Fred Morgan of Oklahoma City says the Oklahoma group is the 25th state chapter of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation in Washington. The Oklahoma group includes 26 state legislators from both political parties.

Among the goals of Oklahoma's caucus is to preserve and promote the traditional rights of Oklahoma citizens to hunt, fish and pursue outdoor activities.

The group will also work to ensure that sports enthusiasts have reasonable access to public lands and provide support for multiple use habitat management for wildlife and fisheries.

The group's first event will be a trap shoot followed by a dinner and program on September 23rd in Enid.
