Tulsa Police say the murder victim was a 4-foot 8-inch, 86 year-old woman who, family members say, went to church every Sunday.
Georgia Sherman's body was found in her home late Tuesday night, after family members told them there had been no sign of her for days. They found a mailbox full of mail dating back to August 31st.
Murder victim’s niece Beth Drake: "We sat there and kept hoping that maybe she wasn't in there or maybe she was just real sick and couldn't help herself. You're always thinking the positive."
Tulsa Police say Sherman had a head wound.
They're looking for a man recently seen around the victim and her home. He's described as a black male, between the ages of 40 and 50, with short hair, a stocky build and a large belly. Police want to know who he is.
The victim's car is also missing. It's a 2004 Chevy Malibu with Oklahoma tag number 564-ZBR.
If you have information that might help investigators, you can make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
