EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) -- Former Eufaula Police Chief Larry Osmond and his wife, Carol, have reached a plea deal on child stealing charges.

The Osmonds entered an Alford plea in which they don't admit guilt, but acknowledge the evidence against them would likely lead to conviction. They entered the plea Monday on what would've been the first day of their trial in McIntosh County District Court.

The two are accused of stealing their 4-year-old granddaughter from the child's paternal grandparents and hiding the girl for several months.
