OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A coalition led by state business groups is gearing up to defeat a measure to restrict government spending at the ballot box.

Business leaders are denouncing the so-called taxpayer bill of rights, or TABOR. They say it will cripple investment in schools, roads, health care and other services.

The coalition, "Oklahomans for Responsible Government," will try to raise $2-million for a campaign to inform voters of the dangers of the proposal. It's already being challenged in the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

TABOR would limit government spending to increases in population and inflation.

Businessman Steve Turnbo says Oklahoma already has a requirement for voter approval of tax increases.
