SemGroup Gives The Tulsa Ballet A Record Gift

The New York Times has ranked the Tulsa Ballet one the top ten ballet companies in the country.

And the News on 6 was the first to tell you earlier this week, Tulsa's dancers are getting a big lift.

The SemGroup Corporation on Thursday gave the largest single donation in the Tulsa Ballet's history, a combined $3-million. Half of that is from the company, the other half is from the CEO and his wife.

SemGroup CEO Tom Kivisto: "seeing the potential of this ballet and the great city of Tulsa, it was just a door open to someone to step in who could really make a difference and move this ballet to the level that I think the people, the quality of the professionals who are here associated with this ballet, can take it."

The money will help pay for new dance studios and help expand Tulsa Ballet's dance school.
