OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A report from a nonprofit group ranks the Grand River Dam Authority's coal-burning power plant in Chouteau as one of the 50 most polluting plants in the country.

The report by the Environmental Integrity Project says the GRDA plant is the 29th most polluting plant.

The study measured emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and mercury.

The plant provides electricity to customers in much of northeast Oklahoma and GRDA spokesman Justin Alberty says it is within all state and federal guidelines.

The Environmental Integrity Project is a nonpartisan group that promotes stricter enforcement of environmental laws.
