DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ The Iowa Cubs score seven runs in the first inning and cruise to a 12-to-3 win over the Oklahoma RedHawks.

Oklahoma's night began inauspiciously when home-plate umpire Mike Muchlinksi ejected designated hitter Eric Young after Young struck out in the top of the first inning yesterday.

The Cubs then rocked Oklahoma starter R.A. Dickey in the bottom of the inning.

After Dickey retired the leadoff batter, the Cubs recorded seven straight hits, six of those for extra bases.

Jesse Hoorelbeke hit a 2-run home run, which was just his second longball of the baseball season, and the next batter, Eric Patterson, followed with his first home run of the season.

Iowa also had two triples and three doubles in the inning.

The Cubs added single runs in the second, third and fourth innings. Oklahoma scored once in the seventh and Jason Hart, who replaced Young, hit a 2-run home run in the ninth.
