CARTER, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities in Beckham County say a 20-month-old girl is dead after apparently being shot accidentally by her 9-year-old brother.

The shooting occurred Wednesday night at a home near Carter in southeastern Beckham County about 20 miles south of Elk City.

Investigators say the boy apparently found the gun, but it's not immediately known where he found it.

No names have been released.
