TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) -- A Muskogee woman is seeing to it that an unknown woman whose body was found in April near Interstate 40 is getting a proper funeral.

Mary Carey took custody of the body after learning it would likely be cremated and after news spread that she would pay for a basic $2,400 graveside service other donations began pouring in.

Now the unknown woman will receive a full funeral service at a Muskogee funeral home.

The woman's body was found in a ditch April 27th about two miles south of I-40 in southeastern Muskogee County.

Investigators say it appears the woman bled to death possibly after a miscarriage.

The woman is believed to be Hispanic, Asian or American Indian, 5-feet-4, 140 pounds with collar-length dark hair and brown eyes.
