RIVERTON, Kan. (AP) -- An attorney for one of the boys who was charged in a suspected school-shooting plot in southeast Kansas says the teen has been expelled from school.
Attorney JoAnna Derfelt says the Riverton Board of Education took the action against 15-year-old Andrew Jaeger Monday. She says she plans to appeal the board's action.
The board declined to comment, citing student privacy issues.
Jaeger and four other teens were accused of planning a April 20th attack on Riverton High School to mark the seventh anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre. Jaeger, 16-year-old Caleb Byrd and 18-year-old Charles New pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to riot, a misdemeanor.
James Tillman and Robert Hunt, both 17, pleaded guilty to the same charge and were put on probation for the school year.
