OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry continues to enjoy a huge lead in fundraising over challenger Ernest Istook.

Campaign finance reports filed Monday show that Henry, a Democrat, had $184,000 in contributions and other receipts from July until August 7th. That brings his total to $3.4-million. Henry had almost $2.5-million cash on hand.

Istook, the Republican nominee, raised $107,000 to bring his total to $1.1-million. He had more than $29,000 in cash.

Istook is giving up his 5th Congressional District seat to run for governor. He finished first in a four-candidate primary after being outspent by one of his challengers -- Tulsa businessman Bob Sullivan.
