MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- Former McAlester City Manager Randy Green was sentenced to four years and three months in prison Thursday.
A federal judge also ordered Green to pay more than $496,000 in restitution and serve 36 months of probation after he completes his prison sentence.
Green was convicted in March on five counts of embezzlement. He was accused him of misapplying money from the city during a time it received federal funds.
Prosecutors say Green sold unused leave days totaling about $585,000 in less than five years before being fired in January 2005.
Federal prosecutors say he embezzled at least $5,000 during federal fiscal years in which the city received at least $10,000 in federal money.
