NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson says pre-season practice is revealing a sloppy Sooner offense.
Wilson says his team needs tougher and smarter before OU kicks off the season by hosting the University of Alabama at Birmingham on September second.
Wilson is in his first season of having autonomous authority over the offense. He previously shared duties Chuck Long.
He says the Sooners need to focus more and make plays and adjustments and be more physical.
Quarterback Paul Thompson agrees with Wilson's assessment. He says the offense didn't click Tuesday -- the first day of two-a-day drills for the team.
Wilson says the Sooners are practicing hard. But he says there's a difference between practicing hard and practicing tough.
