BROKEN BOW, Okla. (AP) -- McCurtain County authorities are searching for an escaped convict who walked away from a work crew in southeastern Oklahoma.

Officials say Aaron Paul Victory was picking up trash along US 70 just south of Broken Bow Tuesday when he ran into a nearby wooded area.

Jeff Culbreath, warden's assistant at the Howard Mcleod Correctional Center in Atoka, says Victory was serving time for burglary in McCurtain County and is believed to have relatives in the area.

The Atoka prison is a minimum-security facility with about 600 inmates.
