BLAINE, Minn. (AP) Former Oklahoma State golfer David Edwards wins the 3M Championship for his first Champions Tour title.
Edwards birdied 5 holes in a 6 hole stretch Sunday en route to a 5 under par 67 and a 2 stoke victory over Craig Stadler and Brad Bryant.
Edwards, making his 11th start on the 50 and over tour, birdied holes number 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13 to reach 11 under.
He added 4 pars and closed with another birdie for a 12 under 204 total on the TPC Twin Cities course.
Stadler finished with a 68 for his third straight runner up finish in the event, while Bryant closed with a 67.
The 50 year old Edwards earned a career best $262,000. He had won three times on the PGA Tour, the last time in 1993 in the MCI Heritage.
Edwards played in the final group and bogeyed the first 2 holes to drop 5 strokes out of the lead.
He was still 4 shots back through 7 holes, but charged up the leaderboard with his birdie run.
