WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) -- The preliminary hearing for a woman arrested and charged in the disappearance of her 6-year-old son begins this week.
The hearing set to start Wednesday will determine whether Katherine Pollard, also known as Katherine Rutan, should stand trial.
Authorities arrested Pollard in late February for the 2002 disappearance of Logan Tucker, who is presumed dead. Prosecutors charged her with first-degree murder and she has been jailed on $250,000 bond in Dewey County since her arrest.
Assistant District Attorney AJ Jaubhan says prosecutors are ready for the hearing and expect the defense to seek a change of venue.
A search for Logan in the Woodward County Landfill was suspended last week, but Laubhan says he doesn't believe that not having a body will hurt the prosecution's case.
