Two men are on a mission in a canoe to make some big dreams come true. They left out of the Port of Catoosa Friday morning, for the Mississippi River, which is more than 1,000 miles away.
Both men are raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, in an event called Kanoes for Kids.
More than a dozen "Wish" kids were on hand to cheer the men on and organizers weren't sure who's having more fun. Jane Rohweder with the Make-A-Wish Foundation:" I think it's a toss up because you see the kids having a good time getting their faces painted by the clowns, but the volunteers, when I put this event up for volunteers, we have so many of them that say "yes I'll do it, even though I have to get up at 5:30 in the morning and get up in the hot weather."
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses and is funded by events like Kanoe for Kids.
