KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ The Kansas Jayhawks are glad to see Texas A&M, Baylor and Oklahoma State on their football schedule this year.

Big 12 Conference schools play only three teams from the other division each year, and this year's rotation takes Texas Tech, Oklahoma and defending national champion Texas off KU's schedule.

While insisting that Kansas is as talented as any other team in the Big 12, defensive lineman James McClinton says he wasn't disappointed by the switch and that it's a blessing not to have to play OU, Texas or Texas Tech.

Baylor was predicted to finish last and OSU next-to-last in the Big 12 South in preseason media polling.

Kansas coach Mark Mangino says he doesn't want to belittle OSU, Baylor or Texas A-and-M, but he says any time you can get elite teams like OU or Texas off your schedule for other teams, it's a good trade-off.
