WELLSTON, Okla. (AP) -- A man standing on the Turner Turnpike was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer rig near the Wellston exit early Tuesday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the man was standing in the inside, eastbound lane when he was hit by the rig about 2:45 AM Tuesday.

Troopers say only that the man is white and was about 20 years old.

The accident led troopers to shut down eastbound lanes of the Turnpike for just more than an hour.
