It took most of the morning Wednesday to clean up an accident at the I-44 and I-244 interchange after a garbage truck rolled over.

The accident happened during the morning rush hour.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the driver was in the eastbound lanes when he hit his brakes and his load shifted. The truck rolled and slid across the interstate.

The driver was cut on the head but refused to be transported to the hospital.

No other cars were involved. Part of the eastbound lanes were shut down while crews cleaned up trash, oil and gas that spilled on the road.
