Independence Day celebrations always feature a lot of flags, red, white and blue plus families young and old celebrating with parades.

New on 6 reporter Rick Wells found all of that and more as he joined in on two 4th of July celebrations on the 3rd.

Monday was second annual Independence Day parade at Oklahoma Methodist Manor in Tulsa. Residents had their scooters decorated like parade floats and made their way around the grounds.

Meanwhile, downtown at the First Christian Child Development Center, there was a parade of a different sort celebrating the same thing. Decked out in red, white and blue, the kids waved flags and carried banners.

Members of Broken Arrow Middle School's percussion marching band lead the parade.
