HENRYETTA, Okla. (AP) -- A Savanna man dies when his parked vehicle is rear-ended on the Indian Nations Turnpike south of Henryetta in McIntosh County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 46-year-old Kenny Crandell of Savanna was in a legally parked car on the turnpike shoulder in a construction zone about 6:10 AM Sunday when the car was hit by a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Justin Cox of Hanna.
The OHP says Cox drove through the construction barrels before striking Crandell's car. Crandell died at the scene.
Cox was taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition. The OHP report notes that Cox was driving under the influence.
