Today marks Tulsa's seventh ozone alert day of the year. Ozone Alerts are typically issued between May and September if there could be unhealthy levels of ozone pollution in the air.Yesterday was also an ozone alert day, but the air standards were never exceeded. We hope to say the same at the end of today.
There are several ways that you can help cut down on ozone. Walk or ride your bike to nearby places, if you must drive, try to carpool. Fill your gas tank later in the evening and don't top off the tank. Postpone mowing the lawn or using other gas-powered machines. Turn up the air-conditioner a few degrees and keep lights turned off as much as possible. So far, tomorrow is not scheduled to be an ozone alert day.
